July 4th, 1776, is the day that symbolizes freedom to all Americans, and people from all across the nation celebrate on this historic day. Therefore, it is one of the most important holidays in our country. However, many Americans this year are struggling financially and cannot afford to spend a great deal of money on 4th of July activities. Fortunately, there are ways that you can celebrate the holiday without taking load of money out of your pocket.
Most cities have fireworks displays, so you can take your friends or family to a designated spot and enjoy the fun. You can take a blanket and sprawl out on the grass to view the gorgeous display. You might want to arrive early, so you can get a good spot.
You can also invite friends over and cook-out without spending a lot of money. Ask each of your friends to bring a certain side dish, desert or bread, and you will just be in charge of the meat. You can then enjoy a fun-filled day with your family and friends.
Another thing that your family might enjoy is spending a day at the park on a family picnic. Pack some sandwiches and snacks and go to the park or lake and enjoy the time with your family. You can take a frisbee or other game to play while you are there.
You might also have a patriotic 4th of July movie marathon. Go to the neighborhood video store and rent patriotic movies. Some excellent choices might include The Patriot, Independence Day, Pearl Harbor, and Patton. You can invite your friends over and have drinks and popcorn.
There is no better time to enjoy the great outdoors than the 4th of July. You can take the family to the lake, zoo or any other outdoor activity that you would enjoy. You might could take a kite with you and have a kite-flying day with your family. If you have access to a lake or a swimming pool, you can take the family swimming for the day.
You could also have a neighborhood ice cream get-together. Ask everyone to bring their favorite ice cream and enjoy the fellowship.
Spending a lot of money is not necessary on this important holiday. The important thing is that you celebrate the independence of our country and why it is such a significant event in our nation’s history.
